Smoothie bowls are a healthy and delicious breakfast, lunch, or snack option to enjoy! We've put together 6 different recipes for you to try. Whether you're looking for something fruity or vegan, we have a smoothie bowl recipe that will suit your needs!

What Are Smoothie Bowls?

Smoothie bowls are thicker, almost frozen smoothies.  It's very similar to ice cream, so this is perfect for you if you enjoy the cold treat in the summertime!

You can add anything from yogurt or protein powder to fruit and granola, making it an easy breakfast on the go. People who often eat smoothie bowls are those who like the cold and crunchy texture or those who have sensitive stomachs and find that a frozen smoothie is easier to digest.

Is a smoothie bowl just a smoothie in a bowl?

A smoothie bowl is a thicker version of a regular smoothie, more like an ice cream consistency. Most people eat them with a spoon, but some prefer to drink their smoothies from a glass using a straw.

You can always adjust the thickness by adding less or more liquid depending on what you have available or your own personal taste.

How To Make A Smoothie Bowl?

To make a smoothie bowl, simply add all your ingredients to the blender and blend until you reach an ice cream-like consistency. Then scoop some or all of it into a bowl and top with whatever toppings sound good to you! Some people like to add granola, fruit, or chocolate chips.

If you'd rather drink your smoothie from a glass with a straw, then that's perfectly fine too! Just make sure to keep an eye on the consistency so that it's not too watery.

Is It Okay To Eat Smoothie Bowls Every Day?

Eating smoothie bowls every day is not bad if you make the right choices. Make sure your ingredients are healthy and that it is packed with nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Try to avoid using a lot of refined sugar as this will provide you with an energy boost, but it will also cause your blood glucose levels to spike and then crash, which is not good. Look for alternative sweeteners such as honey or maple syrup, or even use fresh fruit like bananas that are naturally sweet on their own.

When making your smoothie bowl, make sure you use high fiber ingredients like chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, or hemp seeds to help keep your digestive system regular.

Add some protein to your smoothie bowl by using nut butter or adding a scoop of cottage cheese. This will help keep you full and satisfied longer as well as provide your body with essential amino acids that it needs for muscle repair and growth.
